Go ahead, try'em. The fact is Random Lures catch muskies if you give them the oppertunity.
Hi Dave, I bought a lure from you down at the muskie show back in Feburary. I've caught more fish with this one lure, than I have with all my other lures. I love the way it throws the water and the light weight lets me cast it all day long.
I'd like to get a new one exactly like the one I have just incase I were to ever loose it. It was green and black. Can you help me out with this? I think the number is 321 on your site.
Thanks again for a great season of top water fishing.

We purchased a feather lure from you back in July. Since then my son (13) caught his first musky - all of 35 inches. In addition to that, we have boated three others with this lure. I didn't think the feathers would hold up as well as they are, but we are still throwing it.
Just like to say thanks for the lure and keep it up, you've got a good thing going.        Dan from the Falls

Hi Dave this is Jason, I just got back from a muskey tournament on the Eau Claire chain of lakes in Hayward area. I had just bought two of your awsome bucktails, one made of buffalo hair and the other was your unbelievable pheasant feather bucktail. This body of water as you know is a northern Wisconsin crystal clear lake and the fish are not easy to catch. I was fishing with two other fishermen for the entire tournament and was the only one to catch a beautiful northern Wisconsin muskey. Your bucktails out performed all the other baits that weekend, and you have made a customer for life!!!!!!!!!
                                                                          Sincerely

My 2007 season at a glance. By Dave Balzer...

The fact is that the more you think you know about how to find ski's the more you hit the spot on the spot. If it smells like a fish, sooner or later it will look like a fish. This always holds true for me.
My son, now eight, has seen the advantages of his ol'man knowing where to look. He's bagged five on the year, and has had quite a few follows.  That's quite a rush for the both of us.
As long as we  continue to follow fronts and conditions that have been effective we will continue to have results.
My self, I just need to learn to deal with the elements better. I'v become such a fair weather fisherman as the season went on, simply because I find them before the front pulls through and then I'm good for a coupple days. I guess I'm Spoiled that way. You have to admit, that an't so bad now is it? At the end of the season I've delt with the conditions  and have had limited results even hanging suckers. I think the cold came too quick and too fast.
Thanks to all my customers that gave such rave reviews on each and every one of my lures. Keep on fishing, and take your kids fishing too. Show them the proper way to catch and release and some day they'll do the same.

Here's looking at 2008

A customer of mine from the Milwaukee Musky Show had a story to tell about one of my baits. This is what Stan had to say.
"Archie & I came up to the cabin Wed. night after work. Got up around 10:00p.m. Spent most of yesterday morning cutting grass and cleaning up the yard & garage. About 2:00p.m. it started to rain so I decided to hook up the boat & go to Larry's(brother-in-law) placeon Deerskin. I put 2 pallets in the boat to take to Larry's for use in stacking firewood. Larry is building a new cabin this summer & needs to clear some trees to make room. Besides the pallets , I loaded some lumber & my limited set of battery operated power tools. Oh yes , I did load my musky rods & tackle box just in case I got done early & I'd have time to pitch some baits. Got to Larry's around 3:30 p.m., still raining but I'm here & I'm going to get something done. Fortunately I included the rain gear. I worked through the rain (2 hours) setting up a staging area for the fire wood. Larry had another 6 pallets already up at his place. The rain quit just about the same time I got finished. I mentioned to Archie that we could go fishing if he didn't mind eating a little late. He tipped his head & increased his tail wag so I figured that must mean let's go. We launched the boat and went to a spot I always wanted to fishearly in the season...farily shallow with lots of cabbage. Pulled a rod out of the storage & that's when I realized I messed up. Normally I put my tackle box in the boat, but with the pallets & rain I decided to put it in the Explorer...dumb move for an old guy. I did have one baithooked to one of my rods but it wasn't exactly what I thought I should use. The bait was a new surface bait I purchased from the Random Lure Co. at the Musky Expo this winter. This bait is about 10"long, a black torpedo body with a chartreuse blade/prop in front and back. What the hell, I'm here & don't really want to go back to the landing, let's go with it. The lake is like a mirror & the sun is trying to break through. After several casts, I spotted fins of a fish surfacing about 50 yards away. I worked the area with no success. It's now about 6:30 p.m. & I'm thinking some hot wings at my favorite spot in Eagle River might be the way to go. A couple more casts & were out of here. Upon completeing the retrieve on what was to one of the last casts I pulled the bait from the water & looked to my side to yell at Archie cause he'd just stepped on the trolling motor control pad & set the motor in gear...I looked back in the water & there was Mr.Musky looking at my dangling Random Lure Co. bait... damn dog. Worked the area for 10 min. & moved on. It's now about 7:00 & I'm revisiting the hot wings plan. I pitched the RLC bait, it hit the water but instead of retrieving it I move over to make room for Archie. I now lift the rod tip & started the retrieve when the Lac Suel like explosion took place...absolutely spectacular! I set the hook & the battle was on, in the cabbage which I managed to clear only to have him head under the Tracker. Don't know just how long I battled him but certainly had a good fight. Fortunately I had the landing net along, fortunately I had a tape measure in my pocket (due to the construction project at Larry's) 42.5", unfortunately no camera ( back in the truck W/tackle box) Fished till 8:00with no more action & now off for the hot wings."
Thanks to Stan Strub and congratz on the fish. It was caught on lure # 350
